Volodymyr Dubovyk has delivered a presentation "On centenary of the Irish 1916 rising: roots, character and implications" on May 25, 2016. This took place in the frame of the regular meetings of the Odessa Standing Group on Theory, History and Historiography of the International Relations.

As usual, it was held at the Odessa House of Scientists. In his presentation V. Dubovyk has firstly provided an overview of the roots of the rising and the build-up to it. He then described the character of the rising, the main events of April 24 to 29 of 1916 in Dublin. Finally, the presenter talked about the consequences and implications of the rising for Ireland, British empire and European history.
