The Center for International Studies represents Odesa I. Mechnikov National University in the activities of the "Eurasia Peace Studies Exchange 2020" project. This project has been initiated by the Centre for Peace Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education of The Arctic University of Norway (Tromso) in 2017.

It is funded by Norwegian centre for international cooperation in education.

Project goals and objectives:

The ATHENA project aims to contribute to the development, reform and modernization of higher education systems in the Eastern Neighbouring partner countries Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine. As a structural measure, it is designed to support structural reform processes and the development of strategic frameworks at the national level. ATHENA ultimately aims to enhance the quality and relevance of higher education systems in the targeted partner countries and to increase their voluntary convergence with EU developments.

EUNEG OBJECTIVES

To develop curriculum with ECTS and degree recognition, to introduce modern teaching methodology based on research and active engagement of students, to purchase the electronic equipment and establish the study labs at the PCU, to train and educate academics and administrative staff, to build up syllabuses of courses, including teaching methodology, students’ obligations and relevant literature, to realize mobility flows of teachers and students, to deliver modern literature and organization of EUNEG libraries as a nucleus of the EU-PC information point, to create at PCUs the structure that will be able to realize the exploitation and sustainability of the project’s results
