Director of the Center for International Studies Volodymyr Dubovyk took part in workshop “National perspectives on the Ukraine Crisis: Image Transformation, Foreign Policy Change, and Consequences for European Foreign Policy” that was convened on December 11-12, 2015 at National University Kyiv Mohyla Academy.

In his presentation he had assessed the U.S. policy with regard to the crisis over Ukraine. He had traced the evolution and main steps within the development of such policy. Since Euromaidan to annexation of Crimea to Russian intervention in Donbas the United States have come up with a variety of ways to respond to the actions by Moscow and to support Ukraine. This has included diplomatic actions at UN and other institutions, financial support, sanctions against Russia, delivery of military non-lethal assistance, training Ukrainian military and more. The debates have happened within B. Obama’s administration, between various branches of power and among scholars as to what the optimal U.S. policy towards crisis over Ukraine should be.
