March session of the Seminar on the theory, history and historiography of international relations was held at the Odessa House of Scientists on the topic "Evolution of the "Diaspora" concept in the international relations".

The speech was presented by the graduate student of the I. I. Mechnikov ONU Yana Volkova. The meeting opened multifaceted and ambiguous concept of "diaspora" and evolution of this concept was looked through. Thus the classical criteria as the presence of tragic events that led to the forced relocation, understanding the motherland to which immigrants should return and permanent relations with it eventually smoothed over. Now the role of the main characteristics is played by the institutionalized relations kept with Diaspora and according to constructivists represents a political project of mobilized elites.
