The monograph examines the prospects for the development of the EU policy through its separate regional and global dimensions (policy towards Eastern European countries, the Russian Federation, MERCOSUR, Syria, the USA, the CSDP, the CIS, mediation and peacekeeping). In recent years, the influence of the EU has increased, while skepticism about its further expansion has grown. The distance of the EU from the USA, the involvement of the EU in the processes of the "Arab Spring" and the deterioration of relations between Russia and the EU reduced its foreign policy possibilities. The national interests of individual member countries still prevail; in the near future, the status quo will remain until the EU completes its internal transformations, which will allow it to more clearly outline its position in the system of international relations.
